Official Data Shows Hotel Stays In Málaga Province Returned To Pre-COVID Levels During July

The post-pandemic recovery job is continuing for tourism on the Costa del Sol, at least if newly released statistics are to go by. As SUR in English has recently reported, the National Statistics Institute (INE) for Spain has issued data in relation to the number of visitors and overnight stays in hotels during the month of July. The data showed that Málaga province fared well in this regard, with people from both within and beyond Spain heading to the region’s towns, cities, and beaches in strength over the summer. To be more specific, as far as Málaga province – which includes the Costa del Sol – was concerned, slightly more than 2.5 million overnight stays were recorded for the month. During the corresponding period of 2021, there were just over 1.8 million hotel stays.
